De Casa a Hogares (From Houses to Homes)
For more information visit the From Houses to Homes website. A locally run charity in Antigua, Guatemala providing improved housing to impoverished local families who live in shanty town conditions. The charity focuses on helping single parent mothers who have several children to take care of. The charity provides materials for construction, but the family is required to show commitment to ensure only those families who truly need and appreciate the benefit to their standard of living succeed in gaining improved housing. Whilst the charity does not bring the family out of poverty, it greatly improves the domestic standard of living. nscglobal’s contribution has helped support a number of programs:
